MODALITY MINUTE: Swedish Massage A massage involving acting and manipulating the body with pressure, tension, motion, or vibration with varying degrees of pressure. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as, lymphatic vessels, and/or organs of the gastrointestinal system. Massage can be applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, forearm, and feet.  Oil or lotion is used to facilitate making long, smooth strokes over the body. Swedish massage is done with the person covered by a sheet, a technique called "draping". One part of the body uncovered, massaged, and then covered up before moving on to another part of the body.  A person can lay on their back, front, or side to receive this massage. Swedish massage is the foundation for other types of Western massage, including sports, deep tissue.  It induces general relaxation, improves circulation and range of motion.  It relieves pain and discomfort associated with muscle tension, fractures, sprains, sciatica, and stiff joints.  It flushes lactic acid from tissues and replaces it with freshly oxygenated blood.  It breaks up scar tissue adhesions and restores flexibility and range of motion.  Those with fever, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, jaundice, internal bleeding, acute phlebitis, and thrombosis are not good massage candidates.  NOTIFY THE THERAPIST ABOUT ANY HEALTH CONDITION YOU HAVE so that massage is administered to you in a way that is most beneficial.

Stuffy Ear and Sinus Treatment with Ear Candling

Treatment begins with ear candling in both ears, one candle in each or two in one.  The remainder of the treatment is a gentle and soothing craniosacral treatment specifically geared toward the nasal and sinus area.  Work around the chest cavity and inside the mouth might be invloved should it be indicated.  Additional candles are $10 each.  Please allow 10 minutes for each addiional candle. Candling is painless and relaxing. A beeswax or paraffin covered muslin cone is gently inserted into the ear and lit at the other end. Smoke is released from unlit end and is believed to be the catalyst in candling, drying out excess moisture in the ear canal, loosening infection and candida behind eardrum, and drawing it out by osmisis and pulling it into the remaining, unburned candle. Candling may help with chronic headaches or sinus conditions, ear infections, allergies, and vertigo. Minor hearing loss due to excessive earwax build up might also be helped. It is not beneficial if you have any damage to the eardrum, ear tubes, congenital hearing loss, ankylosis of the stapes, acute mastoiditis, or recent surgical procedures to the ear.  Prices PLEASE NOTE:  Ear candling isn't for everyone and many try to debunk it. This is evident with one quick Google search! But for those who've experienced its relief enough can't be said about its effectiveness!  Should you suspect an ear infection or other ear condition, stopping first at the doctor and getting a diagnosis is ALWAYS the smartest and suggested thing to do.  Ear candling should never be considered nor regarded as a substitute for first pursuing advice from a doctor.

Indian Head and Face Massage

This treatmentis reminiscent of the massage ladies in India give to eachother as they wash one another's hair.  Using essential oils to rejuvinate the spirit, your time will include a head and an extremely gentle face massage with the finest in wrinkle reducing Boswalia facial and rose eye creams followed by a wonderfully relaxing neck massage using thermal therapy artfully applied with a flax filled cervical pillow.  70 minutes of rejuvinating, relaxing, hydrating, wrinkle reducing bliss! Water Therapy

This amazing treatment is done in the water under the careful hand of at least three therapists and is fantastic for the treatment of old "stuff," whether it is physical or emotional.  As the recipient, you will float on the surface of the water as all three therapists gently support you from underneath.  While they work they will be using a variety of techniques, chiefly Craniosacral Therapy. The treatment lasts for 30 minutes but a recipient will integrate it like it was a 1 1/2 hour treatment due to multiple therapists working at once.  Generally, a recipient can only handle 30 minutes of this work at a time and needs to allow their body to process and digest the treatment they received. Treatment is offered in two locations:  East Orlando and Celebration.  Clients and therapists wear bathing suits for the treatment and ear plugs might be helpful for some.  Clients need not know how to swim as treatment is carefully administered in shallow water at all times.  Noodles are always available if they are needed.  (Please allow at least 72 for scheduling of multiple therapists.)  Prices
