OIL ESSENTIALS: Frankincense – An Ancient Healing Oil (Part 1 of 3)
Frankincense oil is distilled from resin of the frankincense tree. It is considered the “holy anointing oil” in the Middle East and has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. It was well known during the time of Christ for its anointing and healing powers. In Biblical times it was used to treat all ills and valued more than gold.
Researchers today have discovered that frankincense is high in sesquiterpenes, which helps stimulate the limbic system of the brain – seat of emotions – as well as the hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary glands. The hypothalamus, master gland of the body, controls the release of many hormones including thyroid and growth hormone. Frankincense is being researched and used therapeutically in European hospitals to build immunity and treat cancer. Proper distillation takes more than 12 hours.

GENTLE REMINDERS: High Fructose Corn Syrup and Leptin
Ever read the ingredients in Doritos? The list is long! There are added food colors and high fructose corn syrup(HFCS). HFCS sabotages a hormone in your body called LEPTIN from being produced. LEPTIN tells your brain you are full. Look for HFCS in ALL your food ingredient lists and avoid them.
MAILBAG: I Wish I Lived Closer
Monica did a fantastic job. She really got the spots that have been bothering me for a very long time. When I asked a question about anything, she answered thoroughly and was happy to do so. I just wish I didn’t live so far away so that I could go more often. I will definitely be calling next year on my next Florida vacation though. Michelle Dolciato (Hudson, OH)
