Have you ever turned over a new leaf?
Those old memories…
I remember back in high school a kid blew into homeroom after Christmas vacation announcing to our homeroom teacher, Mr. Selias, that he was “turning over a new leaf!” Without much excitement, Mr. Selias responded, “We’ll see about that, Pete!” His wisdom must have told him something that none of us knew. All these years later Pete, last I heard, is doing quite well in the Daytona area. Thankfully our high school personalities mature and don’t dictate the rest of life!!
Well, I don’t have a homeroom to burst into with my announcement but “I am turning over a new leaf!”
If you have known me for any length of time, you know that I have lived HATING mushrooms. I have NEVER liked them! I have not liked the taste, the smell, the texture, NOTHING.
And then recently…I have learned how absolutely good for you they are. Reishi mushrooms are an amazing adaptogen.
So I decided right then and there that I was going to CHOOSE to like mushrooms. I started with my favorite soup – potato leek – and added mushrooms to it. Delicious! Then I began adding a mushroom to my daily infusion. Wonderful! (I can’t even taste it to be perfectly honest.)
Granted, I do not eat them like they are going out of style, but I eat (or drink) them every day and I am getting some amazing health benefits from them as I do!
…who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!!!
Remember, where the pain is the problem isn’t!
